Bachata Sensual Fundamental Techniques & Progressions

August 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until August 6, 2024

Are you curious about bachata sensual and how it is different from other styles of bachata? Have you ever wondered how bachata sensual dancers are able to move so smoothly? Or have you wanted to learn the proper technique for leading and following intricate body movement progressions in a safe and comfortable way? This open-level program will cover all that and much more.
In this 6-week progressive series, you will learn the fundamentals of leading and following techniques, as well as solo body movement mechanics for smooth, comfortable, and connected dances.
As a mentee of Korke and Judith (the creators of Bachata Sensual), and as an ambassador of Bachata Sensual America, Wendy is bringing the original Korke and Judith curriculum from Spain to Pittsburgh. You will not be learning choreography or patterns. Instead, we will cover the bread and butter of bachata sensual. We will be drilling fundamental movements in solo and in partner work. We will also work on the smooth transitions between movements to build progressions by yourself. We will cover topics such as connection, frame, and musicality, and building a solid foundation for your future journey as a dancer. Whether you are new to bachata, or a seasoned dancer of other styles of bachata seeking to expand your repertoire, this class series is for you.
IMPORTANT:
Since this is a progressive class series, drop-ins are not recommended (although they are allowed). It is also optimal if you have some familiarity with bachata (~ bachata level 1, e.g., understanding the basic steps with the bachata rhythm and simple turns).
